Floating on Crab Island
Need a quick trip to paradise? Order your floaty, pack your sunblock & point your compass to the Emerald Coast.
Crab Island is a complete misnomer for the massive sand bar located in the white sand paradise that is Destin Beach, Florida, for the only crabs you’ll find are of the inflatable kind. The clear warm welcomes you & as the sand softly tickles your toes.
A space for kids young and old, it’s the perfect blend of pontoon boats, floating obstacle courses and hip height water perfect for getting fun shots on the floaties of your choice!
I spent a day sipping & floating with a few local friends who work at a nearby military base who knew the perfect spots to pick-up drinks, a boat and where to drop anchor!
Looking to chill in paradise? I highly recommend making a trip to Florida’s Gulf Coastline. Dont’ have a boat? No problem. You can easily rent a pontoon for around $300 for half a day and there is no boat in license required.
No time to prep a cooler and food or buy a floaty? No worries!
There are floating kiosks that sell simple American fare and rent floats for any personality type. And, if you need a little heart pumping action, you can play on the inflatable obstacle courses!
Shop the Look
Amazon is my go-to for getting everything I need on the go & many times, I ship what I need directly to my accommodations.
For this last-minute weekend getaway, I ordered Always On Vacation hat, Maui Tanner & After Sun Lotion, & Unicorn Floaty.
Rent a Boat
As Chris Jansen’s song goes: “Money can’t buy happiness… but it can buy me a boat” or in this case, it can get you a rental. And, there is no happier place to spend a hot summer’s day then on a boat.
There are so many boat rental options in Destin from basic pontoons to fancier models equipped with slides! Pontoons are easy to rent and maneuver around the sand bar.
All you need to do is drop anchor & let the chill begin. I recommend going to Destin Vacation Boat Rentals.
