Morocco is a wondrous nation filled with fragrant spice markets, argan and rose oils for cooking and beauty, but the most exhilarating experience lies beyond the Atlas Mountains in the Sahara Desert. 

If you plan to visit Morocco, make sure to schedule one or two nights in the Sahara. My friend and I were short on time so we opted to do an overnight near Zagora and it was delightful. A clear night of star-filled skies with zero light pollution, a home-made Berber meal and camel trek over sand dunes the next morning.
